Scott Holt joined Buddy Guy’s band at age 23, and was Buddy’s secret weapon throughout the 1990’s. In 1999, with the release of Dark of the Night through Lightyear, Holt left Buddy’s band and started touring relentlessly with his own Scott Holt Band. He’s been on the road ever since. Playing festivals, state fairs, honky tonks, and clubs in every large city and small town throughout North America, Scott has established himself with an extensive core following. Now Scott has come back to Lightyear with his fourth album, Chipped Front Tooth. For the first time, Scott toured behind the songs first, recording this album live in the studio after 6 months of honing the songs on the road. The result, Scott feels, is like a beautiful woman with a chipped front tooth. It’s raw, alive, vital stuff, capturing the spirit of the Scott Holt Band like never before. “(H)e really distinguishes himself from the pack as a musician with unbelievable guitar skills, expressive and capturing vocals, and an artist that has risen to the next level.” -- The Blues Crier |
