Rev. Al & Pashion Lewis is a husband and wife duo who have been
recording dynamic Gospel music for over 20 years. Before that, both
Al and Pashion were professional R&B entertainers. Al was reportedly
co-writer (though he never received the credit) of the three and a
half million seller Tighten Up by Archie Bell and the Drells, and
was the longtime leader of the band that wrote and recorded the music
on that famous recording.
In 1980, Al and Pashion decided to use their gifts for the "Glory
of God." Since then, they have ministered in churches, schools,
colleges, civic events, streets, parks and prisons all across the
nation. Al & Pashion host a television program on Bright House
Cable Network Channel 4 in Birmingham called "Message In the
Music." In 2004, the couple won first place at the 8th Annual
North Carolina Fall Gospel Classic.
The title single, It Ain’t About Us, is an uplifting, inspiring
and powerful gospel anthem that will impact the gospel community nationwide.
The powerful theme of this song is echoed throughout this well-crafted
album.
Al is pastor and founder of The House of Restoration United Methodist
Church Mission in Birmingham, Alabama, which is an inner-city ministry
in the western section of the city.
