at the White House, and at various international events including
Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics.
Winners of 3 Grammy Awards and 3 Stellar Awards, they’ve also
been nominated for an Emmy and 3 NAACP Image Awards. They are one
of the most beloved and respected artists in both the Gospel and Urban
genres, consistently releasing top-charting Gospel and Urban AC singles,
and repeatedly selling hundreds of thousands of CDs with each album
release.
The 1st single from their new album is aptly entitled Unity, featuring
the incomparable talents of Ann Nesby, her first performance with
the group in 8 years.
Sounds of Blackness has recorded or performed with such artists as
Prince, Usher, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Sting, Elton John, Luther
Vandross, Bob Dylan, and Aretha Franklin, to name a few.
Unity was Produced by 2-time Grammy Award winning guitarist LaSalle
Gabriel, at the original Flyte Tyme studios in Edina, Minnesota, where
all of the group's early hits were recorded. Unity is a "statement
record" sure to become a multi-format success.
