At the young age of 24, Marcus H. Mitchell is not only a rising smooth jazz saxophone artist, he is also CEO and president of his own multi-faceted entertainment company based out of Maryland. This young entrepreneur received most of his music business knowledge working as an inhouse consultant and producer for Mathew Knowles Music World while still in high school. During this time, Marcus worked with female R&B supergroup Destiny’s Child and coordinated their 2001 presidential victory party performance. Marcus has also worked with well-known jazz artists Mike Phillips, Kim Waters and Marcus Johnson as well as Destiny’s Child.

Marcus performed all around the DC, Maryland and Raleigh area, quickly gaining notoriety while still in college and running his own entertainment company. He has since played various clubs and festivals, including Cuba’s Annual Jazz Festival, the legendary Blues Alley Jazz Club and renowned Jazz Cafe. Marcus has shared the stage with jazz greats Paul Taylor, Peter White and the Rippingtons (featuring Russ Freeman). In 2006, Marcus made history by becoming the youngest independent executive to be on the voting committee for the Grammy Awards.
