Combining pop, heart and outright passion, up-and-cr Lisa Palleschi
is poised to turn heads with her debut album Released. Nine of the
album’s twelve tracks were penned by the Berklee College of
Music graduate (where classmate John Mayer also attended), including
first single Learning How To Love Again, which hit ACQB radio in the
first week as the #1 Most Added. The single quickly moved up the chart
and as of this writing was 18*. This single was also among the most
added at AC R&R its first week out, and is continuing to grow.
After cutting a demo in a small Long Island studio owned by Richie
Cannata, a collaborator with Billy Joel, Lisa traveled to New York,
Los Angeles and Nashville to record the full album. It is produced/co-written
by an array of hit-makers including JeffFranzel (Taylor Dane, Clay
Aiken, Shawn Colvin), Adam Gurvitz (Sheryl Crow, Meredith Brooks,
Steve Perry), Frank Filipetti (James Taylor, Carly Simon, The Color
Purple) and Tom Kimmel (Joe Cocker, Linda Ronstadt, Art Garfunkel).
Lisa prides herself on being a songwriter and her skills are evident
throughout Released. “I think this album has two personalities,”
she says. “Half the songs are really pretty ballads; love songs,
and the other half are more in-your-face, rock songs.” Indeed,
Releasedis chock full of humanity: its songs map the
extreme ups and downs that every person experiences. It’s full
of love (the lush cover of The Cure’s classic Just Like Heaven)
and heartbreak (the scornful I Wanna See You Cry, the second single).
And the big-voiced Long Island, NY-born siren wouldn’t have
it any other way.
