Mike Murphy's debut album II Chance showcases
the blue-eyed soul inside this intense artist. Murphy grew up listening
to his father preach, but it was the Gospel choir in his daddy's church
in Canton, Ohio, that inspired him to sing.
As a soldier Murphy served in Bosnia, and traveled the world representing
his country. As an Army entertainer he sang R&B, Pop and Soul
for his fellow troops. Now Murphy has laid his life experience down
musically, on II Chance.
The album is co-produced by Murphy, Jason "Jase" Dalyrimple
of the multi-platinum group Soul For Real, and Hamza Lee (producer
of the multi-platinum group Color Me Badd). Jase is also a featured
singer with Murphy on eight songs.
The first single off the album is the funky R&B Pop mix Tap That,
featuring Murphy on some sexy lyrics turning on the vocal charm. The
flipside is Stay, which mixes Murphy's vocal ability with his emotional
side.
II Chance features a mix of cuts that can stand on their own, but
together represent an impressive debut for Mike Murphy.
