Grammy-nominated Cuba I Am Time is an expansive journey through the musical annals of Cuba: a 4 CD, 57 track compilation, which includes a comprehensive 112-page booklet and chronicles some of Cuba's most influential musical styles such as the son, guaguancó, rumba, trova, mambo, salsa and Latin jazz by some of the country's foremost exponents and pioneers.

"The project took over two years of extensive round-the-clock research, compiling, editing and just listening to as much Cuban music as we could. It was a labor of love that was an extension of our interest in jazz and the roots it had in Cuba. Havana, along with Salvador, Bahia and New Orleans, Louisiana were the three slave trade ports that introduced the African cultures which greatly influenced much of America's original artform...and we wanted to know more specifically about Cuba's role."

"Digs dip into the roots of Cuban music, unearthing rough-cut gems by artists whose talent has perhaps not yet been fully appreciated beyond the shores of the island." - Stuff Magazine, July 1997

"Marvelously packaged as a cigar box, Cuba is as informative as it entertaining." - Newsday, August 1997

"Blue Jackel's Cuba: I Am Time is every bit as beautifully
done, instructive and comprehensive as their box set Brasil: A Century of Song. In fact, the only rival we can think of for Blue Jackel's Brail box is this one." - Scope, October 1997
